Yes, I am a psychologist provider. I am only in-network with Anthem BCBS PPO Plans (all states), and am currently accepting new patients.
You are encouraged to contact your health insurance provider to find out your mental health insurance benefits. You may wish to ask them the following:
- Do I have a deductible to meet? If so, what is it? Has the deductible been met? What of my deductible still needs to be met?
· Do I have a co-payment or co-insurance? If so, what is it? Does my deductible need to be met first?
-What can I expect for my out-of-pocket expenses? (I, as your provider, can discern this once I know your deductible and plan information, in terms of what each session will cost you, and also within how many sessions you will meet your deductible.)
-Is an authorization or pre-authorization required to receive services?
For many individuals, based on your Anthem/BCBS insurance plan, you may only pay $20-$55 a session (via copay or co-insurance), while the rest of the cost is covered by your insurance. However, for others, there may be a deductible to meet first before a copay or co-insurance begins. (For many individuals, their respective deductible is
For many individuals, based on your Anthem/BCBS insurance plan, you may only pay $20-$55 a session (via copay or co-insurance), while the rest of the cost is covered by your insurance. However, for others, there may be a deductible to meet first before a copay or co-insurance begins. (For many individuals, their respective deductible is often met within 3 to 15 sessions). Additionally, some plans only require you to pay your deductible. Then, once you have met the deductible, your insurance covers the rest of the sessions in full.
If you have a large sum deductible to meet, payment plans may be an option.
Out-of-pocket (OOP) payments may also be an option for individuals who do not have Anthem/BCBS PPO insurance plans. Please note, the cost you might pay with OOP and what you might get reimbursed from your health insurance will vary, and may not be the same as Anthem BCBS PPO Plans. An invoice/receipt can be given to you, so that you may either put that toward your health insurance plan out of pocket deductible cost, and/or get reimbursed by your respective health insurance plan.
I understand the courage it takes to seek out a professional who you hope will be of help to you. My approach has been described as relaxed, open, curious, inviting, and warm.
Depending on the nature of your difficulties, I will often ask what brings you in, how long it's been going on, and what you have done in the past to help yourself.

'Goodness of fit' between the therapist and client is an important factor when considering psychotherapy treatment.
If I do not think that I am a good fit for you, I will let you know of this sooner, rather than later, and I will provide you with a referral. Naturally, you are also encouraged to assess if you feel I am a good fit for you.
