BCBS PPO Doctoral-level therapist Specializing in Adults 18+ Anxiety &/or Depression
From a young age, I was fascinated by why people think, feel, and act the way they do. That curiosity became the foundation of my life’s work and continues to inspire the way I approach psychotherapy today.
Education and Training
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington. Wanting to explore the complexities of the human mind more deeply, I continued my education at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, where I completed both a Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. The program was among the first of its kind to emphasize process-oriented psychotherapy, taught by experienced clinicians who valued depth and practice as much as theory.
My training was further shaped by time at the Carl Rogers Institute for Client-Centered Psychotherapy, where I learned to ground my work in empathy and unconditional positive regard. Later, through fellowships at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute and the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis, I honed my ability to listen not only to what is spoken, but also to the unconscious dimensions of experience.
Professional Experience
Over early two decades, I have worked in a variety of settings — including community mental health centers, medical practices, schools, outpatient clinics, and private practice. These experiences taught me that every patient carries a unique story and that therapy must remain flexible and responsive. Alongside my clinical work, I have presented research nationally and internationally on the fluctuations of consciousness within the process of psychotherapy, receiving recognition for its contributions to integral theory and psychotherapy.
Along side my clinical work, I serve as Associate Clinical Faculty at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (CCP), where I mentor therapists in the CCP Fellowship program. I have also served as a student representative on the CCP Board and helped to establish consultation groups through the Programming Committee. These consultation groups aim to facilitate psychodynamic ways of listening, learning, and becoming a more effective therapist.
At the heart of my work is a simple but profound commitment: to create a safe, ethical, and attentive space where patients can explore their lives, uncover meaning, and move toward greater wholeness.
I adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association, and I prioritize quality of care above all.
